Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Look what I did on vacation!

I've been talking about chopping the locks since before the wedding (that's June 2006, people), so I figured while we were at the beach, might as well just get rid of it so as to have less to get nappy and tangled up. The stylist put it into two pigtails and just hacked 'em off. While she was cutting the first one, I could feel my stomach in my throat, but everything else was fun and relatively easy. I do love how it dries in 5 minutes, and I love not brushing it. I also love tossing my head around and feeling spunky. I'll see how it handles in the motorcycle helmet tomorrow and report back.

Anyway, I've got the 16-inch pigtails in a plastic bag ready for Locks of Love or Wigs for Kids. I donated them to Locks last time, but I'm still doing research about which organization I want to support this time.

On a completely unrelated note, our garden exploded again while we were on vacation. Two of my okra plants got knocked down in a storm, I guess, but everything else is thriving nicely. When I got back, I had cucumbers, lots of obscenely huge okra, tons of tomatoes, cayenne and Thai lemon peppers, and one white eggplant. My food is so pretty!
